- From Eugene, OR Drive SE on Hwy 58 approximately 30 miles.
- Turn right off of the Highway to go to Westfir.
- Cross a green steel bridge and turn left.
- Continue for apporximately 2 miles and park across from
the big red covered bridge in Westfir.
- Time from Eugene: approx: 45 min.
Drinking water is available at a water fountain near the
red covered bridge.
After the ride, cool off with a swim in the North Fork. There
is a great swimming hole 3.3 miles upriver from the
red covered bridge on USFS #19.
To refuel, I highly recommend Rosalina's Mexican Resteraunt
in Oakridge just off of the Highway near the Dairy Queen.
Note:The distances given here are approximate.
I highly recommend a map with current USFS roads and topographic
features. The Oakridge District Map is the best I've seen
of this area. |

- Follow USFS Road #19 upriver along the North Fork River.

#1912.
- Follow #1912 for about 3/4 mile.
- Turn left onto #140 and follow for about 5 miles.
- Turn right at #142 and continue for 1 mile
- Look for the single-track on the right.
- For the next 4 miles the trail climbs up and over Sourgrass
Mt.
- At the intersection with #1912, cross the road and pick
up the trail on the other side.
- After another 1.5 miles of awesome single-track, follow
#1911 along the ridge past the intersection with #1910.
- Pick up the single-track again on the left side of the
road after about 1/2 mile.
- After about 3/4 of a mile, stay left at the intersection
with the Tire Mt. trail.
- Descend to Westfir crossing a few roads along the way.
- At the lower trailhead, turn left on a paved road and
follow it across the railroad tracks, through a residential
area and across the North Fork River.
- Turn left and head upriver back to the red covered bridge.
