Paul's Cycling Team - 2006
Brice Gary
I enjoy the culture, the camaraderie and the competition
found in bicycling. It is truly a way of life, a way of enjoying
the great outdoors, a way of celebrating with friends and
family.
My overall objectives will always be to have fun, make friends,
and compete well.
Rides:
• 2003 Klein Palomino Race Disc
• 1990 Team Marin fully rigid MTB – Converted
to Single Speed
• 2003 Trek 5200
• 1986 Cannondale Road Bike

History: My competition history is mostly in the late 80’s
and early ‘90s. I won several local races while in college
at the University of Arizona and had some top tens in state
level competition. I also competed well in local race series
in Vail and Summit County, CO during the early 90’s.
In 2002 I returned to the bike after several years away. I
had forgotten how much I loved being outdoors and seeing how
well I could compete. In 2003 I completed the Cascade Cream
Puff 100 mtb race on my first attempt and then in 2004 reduced
my time by over two hours. In 2005 the majority of my racing
was in local road races. I hope to do even more racing, both
road and mtb, in 2006.

2006 Racing Goals:
1. Mt. Hood Stage Race (Top Ten – Cat 4)
2. Kings Valley Road Race (Top Five – Cat 4)
3. Compete for top three placing (Sport Vet) in every MTB
race I attend.
4. Support teammates in local road events including the Willamette
Valley Classic and Twilight Crits.

All Ya Need to Know:
My family is the most important thing to me especially my
wife Sheri and son Luke. One of our favorite things to do
to ride through the neighborhood to a little playground or
schoolyard where Luke can really let loose.
Luke is starting to show an interest in bicycle racing and
always wants to go on rides with me. He did get the opportunity
to race in the Eugene Hill Climb Time Trial with me. We hooked
up the trail-a-bike to the back of my Palomino and “competed”
in the tandem class. Luke did provide some horsepower, but
mostly he just talked about how neat it was to be out riding
the bike with Papa (and this was on a cold rainy day).
Oh yea – I pay the bills as a Consulting Engineer and
Project Manager, mostly doing some Application Development
work for Nuclear Power Plants. I’m hoping to find something
local in the near future as I have to travel a fair bit which
limits both my family time and my training time.

Funny - I noticed that most of my cycling
pictures are on the Palomino and this is probably the bike
I spend the least amount of time on.
