Paul's Cycling Team - 2006
Damien Kruziki
As you already found out, I'm Damien Kruziki, and am happy
to be part of the Pauls Bicycling team once again this year.
This is my third year on the team. Aside from cycling,
I enjoy my daytime job, playing soccer, hanging out with friends,
drinking beer and wine, and socializing.
During the day time hours, I am a commercial photographer.
I work for a small business called PhotOregon, who is also
a proud sponsor of Pauls Cycling Team. We specialize
in commercial photography, large format digital printing,
finishing work, film scanning, transparency film processing,
and trade show booths. Some of my clients are:
Rolf Prima, King Retail Solutions, University of Oregon, Oregon
State, G/E- Kalatel division, Monaco Coach Corp, and Marathon
Coach.
Since this is a cycling website, I thought some cycling related
pics would be fun.
Hillclimb TT's hurt in a bad way. Almost as much as
a flat TT. I made McBeth rd. in Eugene, Oregon my bitch
last year but still wasn't fast enough to win the cat 4's.
Many of the cat 4's have been riding faster hillclimb times
than most cat 2's and 3's that participate.

I certainly ain't no freerider. However, some friends
and I managed to find some fun stunts that were "mostly"
rideable over on the Oregon Coast. The teeter totter
is freaky the first time, after that it wasn't so bad.

This is a large old growth log ride that the General and I
found at the bottom of Silver Bullet, at Whypass. Option
to ride or not to ride. Easier than it looks.

I actually enjoy cooking. Last thanksgiving we had an
18# turkey at my house. Soon to come this year as well...

This past summer, my roommate Abe and I raced in a few 12
hr races. This is a shot from the 12 hrs of Weaverville.
Abe and I got 2nd place 2 person SS team. We won the
12 hrs of Humbolt 2 person SS team, and got 3rd place overall
for teams there as well.

Sometimes friends do mean things to me and "bet"
me to do things I normally wouldn't. Well, this actually
didn't bother me wearing a Tyvec suit to mow my yard.
However, it was like 90 degrees out.

As I stated earlier, Abe and I won our class at Humbolt 12
hrs. This is a finishing descent, with a contending
team shortly behind me.

So, from all the pictures, one can gather I might like to
ride my single speed mountain bike. My summers consist
of having lots of fun mountain biking, camping, and beer guzzling.
If I'm not having fun doing something, I'm not gonna be forced
to do it. Epic rides are my favorite. Long rides
in the Oregon Cascades cannot be beat. There is great
riding all over the world, but as far as I'm concerned our
backyard is top shit. I've ridden in the midwest where
I grew up; fun technical trails but not like the miles upon
miles of singletrack we have out here. Southern Utah,
and SW Colorado is great too, but I'm a fan of green things
and big trees. California has great riding, but there
is an over abundance of folks there to piss you off.
We don't run into that here either. I could go on but
I'm not gonna.
My life sort of revolves around bicycles. There are
over a dozen in my garage that function. From fixie
to full squishy, to rigid SS, to skinny road riding machines.
It seems like I always have a something to work on on a bike.
From night riding, to commuting, keeps me constantly thinking
about bicycling, not to mention helping to promote local races
and events.
So, keep smiling, go ride your bike, and be happy with life.
