Paul's Cycling Team - 2006
Wes Stephens
About Me
I love to ride my bike. What else is there to say? I could
go on and on about what a great guy I am but that’s
what friends are for. Hello …friends …hello.

Seriously, cycling helps to keep me sane and feeling young.
(I’m older than you think.) I have fallen in love with
road racing. Strategy is such a big part and that provides
a mental stimulation not found in most of the other disciplines.
Racing provides goals for continual improvement.

When I’m not on my bike (sometimes even when I am),
I work as a computer systems consultant for a company located
in Baltimore. I work from home and set my own schedule. That
is both good and bad. With all the great riding here in the
Eugene area, it is sometimes difficult to get any work done.

The Team
I have been part of the Paul’s Cycling Team since the
first year. This team has grown from a few people looking
for fun to a real influence in the local cycling community.
“Keep it Fun” has been our motto since the start.
Sometimes it’s difficult with the desire to win but
we have been able to keep the fun in cycling all year.
Last Year
Road Racing:
Cat IV
4th Kings Valley Road Race
9th Columbia Plateau Stage Race
7th Silverton Road Race
Upgraded to Cat III
41st Mt. Hood Cycling Classic
Silver Medal Oregon State Team Trial
14th Eugene Celebration
MTB Racing:
Expert Vet
3rd Oregon Outback Challenge
Next Year
I have a couple of priorities for next year. First, I want
to have high placing at the Oregon stage races (Columbia Plateau,
Mt. Hood and the Cascade Classic). I also want to win the
Masters Division of the Cascade Cream Puff.
